VNUS Closure™ is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat venous reflux, a condition in which vein valves fail to function properly and allow blood to pool in the legs.
The procedure uses radiofrequency energy to heat the vein wall, causing it to collapse and seal shut. Blood is then naturally redirected to healthy veins.
A thin catheter is inserted into the affected vein through a small incision in the lower leg. Controlled radiofrequency energy is delivered along the length of the vein, gently closing it.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and does not require traditional vein stripping surgery.
Most patients return to normal activities within a short period following VNUS Closure™. Clinical studies have shown high success rates with long-term vein closure and symptom relief.
Improvement in symptoms often occurs early, while cosmetic improvement continues as the body absorbs the treated vein.
Treating venous reflux addresses the underlying cause of many varicose veins and chronic venous disease, improving long-term outcomes and reducing recurrence.
A consultation can help determine whether VNUS Closure™ is the most appropriate treatment for your vein condition.
