Dr. Hilary Ann Brown is a highly respected vascular surgeon, academic, and healthcare leader, serving as Managing Director and Chief Medical Officer of Vein Centers of Jamaica. With internationally recognized training and decades of clinical experience, Dr. Brown delivers comprehensive, evidence-based vascular care with a strong emphasis on safety, innovation, and patient-centered treatment.

Dr. Brown earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, following a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the same institution. She completed her General Surgery residency and Vascular Surgery fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine, where she received advanced training in the full spectrum of open and endovascular vascular procedures. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and an active member of multiple regional and international surgical and vascular societies.

Her clinical practice spans all aspects of vascular surgery. In addition to advanced venous care, Dr. Brown manages complex arterial and vascular conditions, including peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease and stroke prevention, aortic and aorto-iliac disease, aneurysmal disease, diabetic foot disease, chronic limb-threatening ischemia, and vascular access for hemodialysis. Her approach integrates individualized treatment planning with the appropriate use of minimally invasive endovascular techniques and open surgical reconstruction when required.

At Vein Centers of Jamaica, Dr. Brown leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of venous disorders such as spider veins, varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, and venous ulceration. She has been instrumental in introducing and expanding modern venous therapies in Jamaica, including ultrasound-guided and minimally invasive procedures that allow for rapid recovery and return to normal activity.

In parallel with her clinical leadership, Dr. Brown is a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of the West Indies and serves as Director of the Surgical Residency Training Program. In this role, she oversees the training and mentorship of surgical residents, ensuring high standards in surgical education, professionalism, and patient safety. She has also held key academic leadership roles, including Director of the Surgical Skills Laboratory, and remains actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

Dr. Brown’s academic contributions include numerous peer-reviewed publications in international journals, with research covering venous disease, vascular surgery outcomes, carotid disease, trauma, and population-based studies relevant to Caribbean healthcare.
