Dr. Jonathan J. Key is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon with advanced expertise in complex lower-extremity conditions, limb preservation, and reconstructive surgery. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery, reflecting the highest standards of surgical training and clinical excellence.

Dr. Key completed his medical education at the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. He went on to complete his surgical residency at the Yale/VA Health Care System through Yale University School of Medicine, where he received comprehensive training in both elective and trauma-related foot and ankle surgery.

Further advancing his expertise, Dr. Key completed a highly specialized fellowship at the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Center for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Kurgan, Russia. This experience provided advanced training in limb reconstruction, deformity correction, and complex orthopedic techniques used in challenging clinical cases.

Dr. Key is known for his collaborative approach to care, working closely with vascular surgeons, wound-care specialists, infectious disease teams, and internal medicine physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes—particularly in high-risk and limb-threatening cases.
